He is best known for his award winning series called (boxboy Jr. Cardboard Box Adventures). “I used to love collecting the leftover cardboard boxes from packages as a kid. These boxes would become my next adventure. My imagination turned these cardboard structures into castles, spaceship command centers, flying trains and whatever else I thought of. This was the start of me wanting to travel and see the world. I was inspired by my son to illustrate this important phase of my childhood. I wanted him to see a character that looked like him traveling the world and using his imagination as the starting point. So I created this character called (boxboy Jr.). He’s a Cuban and African American mixed boy who uses a cardboard box as a vehicle to journey through his imagination. This is the little boy character in all of his pieces. This art series has allowed Alex to make a living traveling the world with his family while winning multiple awards and spreading the importance of imagination.
