"Hareem" is an Arabic word for a harem, meaning a private, sacred, or forbidden place for women of a family, and sometimes refers to the women themselves. "Hareem" and terms like "Ameerat al Arab" (Arab Princess) are also used in the names of Arabic perfumes, such as Hareem Al Sultan and Ameerat Al Arab. The concept of a harem also historically refers to the secluded quarters of a sultan's household, as seen in the Ottoman Harem at Topkapi Palace.
