Amaranth takes its name from the ancient Greek for the unfading flower — a symbol of immortality and beauty persisting beyond decay. This original fluid artwork by Egyptian artist Reem H. Sultan is saturated in magentas, crimsons, and fuchsias so intense they resist the passage of time.
Rooted in acrylic and fluid manipulation, pigments — fuchsia, blush pink, crimson, lavender, and black — were layered. Dramatic black tendrils shaped by palette knife resemble storm-split trees, while cellular formations add microscopic depth. A silver-white rivulet traces the right edge, counterpointing the turbulent warmth of the centre.
The composition sweeps diagonally, anchored by dark branching forms descending into a luminous field of soft pink and lavender. The viewer is invited to find their own anatomy — veins, rivers, roots, neural pathways. Every rivulet is a decision made in real time, an unrepeatable act of creation.
