Grandma's Home

ARTEZAAR LLC | Stand : FB08-FB09-FB10-EB01-EB02-EB03-EB04-EB05

This painting depicts a clamorous absence. In this cozy corner of Grandmother’s house, everything is present: from the warm leather armchair and half-knitted yarn to the glasses left on the mantelpiece and the imagined aroma of fresh tea—everything bears witness to life, save for her. Grandmother is not within the frame, yet she maintains an eternal presence in the very fabric of the space, in the soft light gracing the wall, and in the room’s silence—a silence rich with memories. Through this oil painting, I have sought to capture that state suspended between presence and absence, and to portray the enduring warmth of a mother’s love—a love that did not vanish with her departure but lives on, imprinted upon these objects.
