“There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception.” - Aldous Huxley

This painting depicts a typical style of the Arabian door found in the historical area of Old Dubai, Al Seef. In an Arab culture, doors represent a significant meaning of new beginnings and regional traditions with artistic expressions.
The door, painted in warm and cool shades of burnt sienna and turquoise resemble a fort-like structure that exudes a royal yet traditional look and grips the viewer into the silent aura of mystery of what lays behind.
The artist adds modern amenities around the door to portray the adaption of modernity. A lone pigeon pecking away on the dusty ground is added onto the scene to give a viewer a feel of life around lazy silence of a warm summer afternoon.
