The Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood Dubai (Al Bastakiya) is a prominently preserved heritage neighbourhood reflecting the traditional way of life that prevailed in Dubai decades ago. The artist has centered the old traditional architectural buildings of Al Fahidi Historical District also known as Al Bastakiya as her inspirational subject. The various shades of earth tones stay true to their old, sturdy architectures. Traditional barjeel (wind tower) on the buildings completes look of traditional Arab houses. The white mosque in the background adds the cultural glamour to the traditional marketplace. The artist aims to highlight the past culture & tradition of the neighbourhood. It may have been turned into a modern day tourist attraction but the buildings architectural structures still stay intact to their true traditional culture.
