          The painting is inspired by the moment I chose to leave a familiar life  behind and step into the   unknown to become an artist. It represents choosing the unfamiliar over the comfortable. The vast sea holds the fear and struggle of the journey and the sunset and sky hold the reminder that it’s all worth it. It’s a visual metaphor for beginning again, The rough sea represents uncertainty , the sail represents the persistence and the sunset behind it captures the beauty of choosing a new direction.
