JSB DIS/PLACED
JSB DIS/PLACED depicts the exceptional cellist 'Michiaki Ueno' at a concert in Leipzig's St. Thomas Church in Germany, the place where 'Johann Sebastian Bach' worked.
Deep in contemplation, he plays Bach's six cello suites from memory - so intensely, the music and space seemingly dissolve. Sound waves overlap, light and sound merge, and the building appears dis/placed. The painting captures this mystical moment: music as a spiritual force connecting elements. A visual homage to Ueno, Bach - and the poignant magic of the moment.
