“Stand firm as the tower that never shakes its top whatever wind may blow.” - Dante Alighieri

Barjeels (wind towers) are the desert’s natural air conditioners. Barjeels, situated on top of the building, are an integral structure of any old, Arabic architecture that have been used in old times during summers to cool buildings in the Gulf region. These towers cooled the insides of homes by 10*C when there was no electricity in old days.
The artist has centred barjeel (wind tower) as her inspirational subject of her painting, in which the earthly colours of yellow orchre, naples yellow, raw and burnt sienna boasts the sturdy architecture of any old Arabian building across the Emirates. The sky in a standard light blue with hints of white clouds suggests summer weather which is a norm all year round in UAE. The artist adds a lone pigeon perched on one of the wind pipes of the barjeel that suggests a lazy, warm afternoon. The pigeon added to the scene hints of a story of its own.
