Fragmented series – ‘Worn Thin, Still Standing’

This Two-Horned Rhino painting titled ‘Worn Thin, Still Standing’ is a reflection on strength slowly worn thin. Once roaming grasslands and forests with quiet authority, the two-horned rhino now stands at the fragile edge of survival, its presence diminished by greed, poaching, and shrinking habitats. This artwork is built from reclaimed cloth fragments adhered to the canvas and softened with painted layers, a process that echoes how even the most powerful beings are reduced, altered, and broken apart by human actions. The rhino’s solid form carries visible ruptures, reminding us that resilience does not mean invincibility. Through this piece, I invite the viewer to confront the cost of desire and consumption, and the silence left behind when ancient lives are reduced to fragments. Yet within these remnants lies a quiet plea; that protection, restraint and coexistence may still restore what has not yet vanished.
