Fragmented Macaw is a meditation on beauty at the edge of disappearance. Once filling the rainforest skies with color and sound, the macaw now inhabits landscapes increasingly shaped by absence. This work is formed from reclaimed cloth fragments, carefully adhered to the canvas and merged with painted passages, layers that echo the way nature is slowly overlaid by human intervention. What remains vibrant is also vulnerable. Macaw’s brilliance resists erasure, yet its form carries quiet fractures, reflecting forests broken into fragments and futures left uncertain. This painting asks us to look beyond the spectacle of color and consider the cost at which it survives. In a world driven by excess and convenience, even the most radiant species can fade. Still, within these fragments lies a fragile hope; that awareness can lead to restraint, and coexistence can replace loss.
