Traditional Bedouin women embodied resilience and connection to their families, land and faith. This painting depicts a scene of a traditional Bedouin woman, hand crafting traditional dresses using simple tools and techniques for intricate embroidery. The artist paints an elderly Bedouin woman in her traditional attire of shayla (headscarf) and colourful Jalabiya gown, veiled with a traditional battoulah worn by married or elder women. The distinctive embroidery design, beadworks and embellishments on traditional Jalabiyas holds symbolic meaning of tribal identity, marital status, or personal stories. To add an infusion of the nomadic Bedouin lifestyle, the walls and floor are set in earthly shades and thick, woven rugs are painted on the upper walls. The weaving skills are passed down by elderly women in families, ensuring the culture and roots are preserved through generations
