Year: 2024
Artist: Alhaz GK Mushahid
This exquisite artwork, The National Flag of Canada on Real Thin-Tailed Sheepskin, beautifully captures the iconic red and white flag with its stylized 11-pointed maple leaf. Created by the celebrated artist Alhaz GK Mushahid after 5 years of dedicated research and he discovered the innovative technique of hand-painting on sheepskin for the first time in the world of art. This masterpiece reflects Canada’s rich heritage.
The red symbolizes sacrifice and courage, while the white Canadian pale embodies peace and honesty. At the centre, the vibrant red maple leaf has been a national emblem since the 18th century, signifying pride, nature, and resilience. The flag’s introduction marked a turning point in Canada's history, replacing the Union Flag and establishing a distinctive visual identity for the country.
